Your Past Isn’t a Prison-It’s a Portal

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done.” — Genesis 50:20

There comes a point in every woman’s journey when she looks back and realizes - what tried to destroy her actually developed her.

The heartbreak that once made her question everything…
The betrayal that shook her faith…
The season that felt like silence from Heaven -
None of it was wasted.

God was never punishing you, my friend. He was positioning you.

The past was never your prison. It was your portal - the divine doorway through which your purpose, empathy, and strength could finally emerge.

The Myth of Moving On

We live in a world that worships progress but fears process.
People will tell you to “move on,” “get over it,” “just let it go.”
But legacy doesn’t begin by running from your story. It begins when you redeem it.

Because moving on and moving forward are not the same thing.
One runs from pain. The other walks through it with purpose.

The truth is - you can’t rise without remembering.
You can’t teach wisdom you’ve never walked through.
And you can’t build a legacy that doesn’t first honor the lessons of your past.

The very thing that broke you might be the thing that births your ministry.

Finding Purpose in the Pieces

When I think about the moments that shaped me most, they weren’t the easy ones.
They were the nights I cried and still showed up to teach the next day.
The seasons I had to trust God when everything around me fell apart.
The years I carried grief in one hand and grace in the other.

Those moments didn’t define me - they refined me.
They became the classroom where my calling grew strong enough to serve others.

And that’s the sacred shift, isn’t it?
When we stop seeing the past as punishment and start seeing it as preparation.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

You don’t need to erase what happened to you.
You only need to invite God into it.

When you hand your history to Him, He turns it into a roadmap for someone else’s healing.
He uses your tears as ink to write a testimony that future generations will read and find hope.

Your story isn’t stuck behind you - it’s alive through you.
Every scar tells someone else, “You can survive this too.”

Your past isn’t your anchor - it’s your assignment.

The HER Life Legacy™ Invitation

Inside HER Life Legacy™, I help women reclaim their stories and reframe their seasons of struggle into sacred strategy.
Because legacy isn’t about what you leave behind - it’s about how you live right now with wholeness and wisdom.

When you honor your past, you release its power to wound you and reclaim its power to witness through you.

So, look back one more time - not with regret, but with reverence.
Your past didn’t break you.
It built the woman who will bless generations.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done.” — Genesis 50:20
